At about 10 Oclock at night, there was a group held on October 14th. The group consisted of 64 men and 56 women. Few of there were friends while others where associates that didn’t talk but only rarely at the fire meet, then you had others that didn’t want certain people around them. One thing that all the men had in common. No matter if they liked each other or not, they all stood true to all of their beliefs.
A couple of hours earlier there was a man, an Amish man whos name was Noah Jansen. He did what no man has ever done before. He handed out flyers and posted them on poles, they all said the same thing. “If you are going to stand up for what’s right meet me later at my place around the fire.” Everybody knew Noah because he was the only man who spoke loudly about his beliefs even when he wasn’t in a meeting. As soon as they saw his name on the flyer, “Noah Jansen” they knew it was for the Amish.
When they all were riding on their buggies pulled by horses they where all stopped by a police officer. The officer’s name was officer Black. He told them ” If I see another one of you on those buggies without a hazard triangle on it you will go to jail for a long time.” This had filled them with rage and fear. They only got stopped because of their beliefs and they feared what lied ahead for them. Once they got to the fire Noah stood on top of a box and made a speech. Noah said “Guys, I know we are all scared of what comes next if we don’t back down from our beliefs. But we must stay strong and fight for what we believe in. We must do this because I don’t know when our time of life may end.”
All the Amish people wanted to show that they would not back down from what they believe in. They went going to do things differently just because they have different beliefs than other people. A couple of days later 64 men and 56 women rode there buggies with no sticker into town. They went to the police station. The officer who stepped out was officer Black. He took all of them to jail and the last one he put into a cell was Noah Jansen. He told officer Black to share this message with the public. ” I’m sure most people believe that me and my people have lost the fight for what we think is right. You are wrong we are going to be just as happy as we where just now we are behind a cell.” He shared the message with the public and they made a pact to let all of them out of jail.
